Thousands of letters from fans throughout the world have been received at the New York Grand Central Station address, as given both on the *Solitude Standing* album sleeve and in the 1987 tour programme. From these letters, a list was compiled of the questions most often asked of Suzanne, some of which appear below, together with the answers that Suzanne herself has kindly provided.

*Who are your inspirations?*
Kurt Weill, Lou Reed, Philip Glass, Edward Hopper.
*At what age did you begin writing songs? Playing guitar?*
I began playing guitar at age eleven, and writing songs at age fourteen.
*Do you play any other instruments?*
Not yet.
*Who is Matt Vega? Is he your husband?*
No, he is one of my brothers.
*Are you married? Any children?*
No, no.
*Who is Caspar Hauser, and what is the significance of the wooden horse?*
He is a man who lived in the early 1800's in Germany-he was imprisioned for the first seventeen years of his life by his family and was given only a wooden horse to play with.
*Is there a recording of Black Widow Station?*
Yes, one or two live recordings released in Germany.
*Have you been involved in any albums or recordings beside your two albums?*
