PETER PREISLER ROHDE (1902-78) was a prolific author and critic who in
daily life taught English and Danish at a grammar school. His interests, which
ranged over international affairs, cultural history and literature, took him on
study journeys in Europe and Israel and resulted in a succession of books
(together with lectures and broadcasts and articles in Danish and foreign journals.
They were also reflected in his membership of the council of the Danish
Foreign Affairs Association, the Danish-Israeli Society and the Pen Club. Interned
in 1941-43 and 1944-45 during the German occupation, he was from
1948 arts correspondent of the newspaper Information, originally an
underground Resistance paper, and for a time was also the editor of the literary
magazine Vindrosen. Besides the many books of his own, inter alia on
Kierkegaard, he edited editions of Kierkegaard's works and the White Paper
of the Resistance organization Frit Danmark on Denmark during the occupation,
volumes I and II.

FRITHIOF BRANDT (1892-1968). Danish philosopher. His lifelong interest in Kierkegaard is reflected in several books and papers. Besides his principal work from 1928 Den unge Søren Kierkegaard (The Young Søren Kierkegaard) for instance Syv Kierkegard studier (1963) and (with Else Rammel) Søren Kierkegaard og pengene (1935 & 1994).
